Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account Data — When you sign in, we collect your account identifier and display name. Depending on how you sign in:

• Discord — Your Discord User ID, username, and display name.
• Google — Your Google account ID and email address. We do not store your Google password.

Game Data — In-game activity including creatures, inventory, currency, progress, and other gameplay state.

User-Generated Content — Content you create in social features that other players can see, including: plaza chat messages, bulletin board posts, mail messages and drawings sent to other players, your player card display name and caption, your home decoration layout when visible to friends, and emote use. We store this content so other players can see it and so we can review it for moderation.

Social Connections — Friends you've added, friend requests sent or received, and users you've blocked.

Usage Data — Gameplay analytics such as features used and engagement patterns to help us improve the game.

Device Data — If you use the mobile app, we collect a push notification token to deliver notifications to your device. We do not collect device identifiers, contacts, location, or other device data.

We do not collect your passwords or private messages outside of Axolkin's own social features.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Providing and improving game services
• Saving and loading your progress across devices
• Showing your display name, player card, and content you post to other players in plaza, mail, and bulletin board features
• Powering social features (friends list, home visits, activity status)
• Moderating user-generated content for compliance with our Community Guidelines
• Sending notifications about game events (opt out anytime in Settings)
• Delivering push notifications to the mobile app (opt out in Settings or device settings)
• Analyzing gameplay to identify bugs and improve features
• Preventing abuse and exploits
• Displaying leaderboards and tournament results

3. User-Generated Content & Visibility

Some Axolkin features let you share content with other players. Here's who can see what:

• Plaza chat — Visible to every player currently in the plaza in real time. Chat is not private and should not contain personal information.
• Bulletin board posts — Visible to every player who opens the bulletin board.
• Mail messages and drawings — Visible to the recipient only.
• Player card — Your display name, caption, color choices, and active companion sprite are visible to anyone who opens your card.
• Home decoration — Visible to friends who visit your home, and (when public-profile is enabled) to anyone with your profile link.
• Activity status — Friends can see what you're doing in the game ("In Plaza", "Autobattle - Wilds", etc.) when activity sharing is enabled. This is opt-in via Settings.
• Leaderboards — Your display name appears on public leaderboards unless you opt out via Settings → Privacy → Hide from Leaderboards.

Do not share personal information (real name, address, phone number, financial information, login credentials) in any user-facing field. Other players can see and copy this content.

4. Moderation & Reporting

Axolkin uses automated filters and manual review to enforce our Community Guidelines on user-generated content. We may review, remove, or refuse to display content that violates the guidelines, and we may suspend or ban accounts responsible for repeated or serious violations.

To report inappropriate content or behavior from another player, contact us on our Discord server or email abuse@axol.gg. Include the offending player's display name, the approximate time, and where it occurred (plaza chat, bulletin, mail, etc.).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share data only with service providers necessary to operate Axolkin, when required by law, or to protect the safety of our users.

6. Third-Party Services

• Discord — Bot platform and authentication
• Google — Authentication (Sign in with Google)
• Firebase Cloud Messaging — Push notification delivery for the mobile app
• Amazon Web Services — Server and data hosting
• Mixpanel — Gameplay analytics
• Google Analytics — Website and app traffic analytics
• Top.gg — Bot listing and voting platform

Each service has its own privacy policy governing its use of your data.

7. Cookies & Local Storage

The Axolkin website and app use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to maintain your session, store your preferences, and collect analytics data. You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings.

8. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in secure databases with encrypted connections hosted on Amazon Web Services. We implement access controls and follow standard security practices to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your data.

9. Data Retention

Account and game data is retained as long as your account is active. Push notification tokens are removed when you log out or uninstall the app. User-generated content has these retention rules:

• Plaza chat — Recent messages stay visible to plaza visitors for the duration of the session, then expire from view. We retain logs of chat messages for up to 90 days for moderation, abuse-investigation, and safety purposes, then delete them.
• Bulletin board posts — Visible until they age out of the board (typically 30 days) or are removed for moderation. Retained logs follow the same 90-day moderation window.
• Mail messages and drawings — Retained until both sender and recipient have deleted them, or for the moderation window if reported.
• Reports and moderation records — Retained for up to 1 year so we can investigate repeat offenders.

Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained beyond these windows for analytics purposes. To request deletion of your account and personal data, see Section 11 (Your Rights).

10. Children's Privacy

Axolkin is not directed at children under the age of 13 and is not intended for their use. We do not knowingly collect personal data from users under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@axol.gg and we will delete it promptly. The chat and bulletin features are age-gated to 13+ and we may suspend accounts that we have reason to believe belong to underage users.

11. Your Rights

You may request:

• Access to your stored personal data
• A copy of your data in a portable format (GDPR/CCPA portability)
• Correction of inaccurate information
• Deletion of your account and data, including chat messages, mail, bulletin posts, and other user-generated content you've created. (Public copies in mail recipients' inboxes will be removed; aggregated/anonymized records and 90-day moderation logs may persist.)
• Opt out of DM notifications (reply STOP to any bot DM, or use in-app Settings)
• Opt out of push notifications (in-app Settings or device notification settings)
• Hide yourself from public leaderboards (Settings → Privacy → Hide from Leaderboards)
• Hide your activity status from friends (Settings → Privacy → Show Activity to Friends)
• Block another player to prevent their content from appearing to you

To exercise these rights, contact us on our Discord server or by email at privacy@axol.gg. EU/UK users may also lodge a complaint with their local data-protection authority. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Axolkin after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
